Castles, Jam and lots of Driving

Every year I have a break in Scotland with Neil's family. His mum has lived there for around 9 years now and we love going up to see her and the rest of the family. It's such a relaxing break and very welcome for both of us.
This time we visited Edinburgh as neither of us have been before and then we drove back through the Cairngorms National Park which is part of the Highlands. It was lovely to do something a bit different and although the driving was long, we loved the scenery and spending some quality time together. Here are a few (a lot) snaps of our trip.

 Driving over the Forth Bridge
Cute little houses on the way up to the castle

 Ooh cocktails!

Adorable family of ducks by a loch. They were super friendly!

 Strawberry picking!

There was a-lot of jam from the fruit picking!

 Bullers of Buchan

Slains Castle - said to be the inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula

Neil's cousin modelling a crochet cardigan I made for her

That was a lot of pictures! I really enjoyed going to Edinburgh and I think we would visit again but incorporate Glasgow as well. I also loved going to Bullers of Buchan which was truly stunning, a definite must-see place if you're in that area.

Have you been to Scotland? What is your favourite part?
